About The Position

Lanteris Space Systems is seeking a Director of Security based in our Palo Alto, CA office. In this role you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive security programs to safeguard the organization’s personnel, facilities, and assets. This role requires deep expertise in U.S. Government security programs, physical and facility security, and corporate risk mitigation. The Director will also oversee a 24/7 Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), ensuring continuous monitoring, incident response, and intelligence-driven security operations across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • US Citizen
  • Active TS/SCI clearance/access and CI Poly
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of progressive security experience, including leadership roles
  • Demonstrated experience supporting U.S. Government programs and contracts
  • In-depth knowledge of NISPOM and federal security regulations
  • Experience as or working closely with a Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) and Facility Security Officer (FSO)
  • Experience managing or overseeing a 24/7 GSOC or similar operations center
  • Experience with physical/facility security systems and protocols
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed, 10%
  • Availability for emergency response situations outside normal working hours

  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, CISSP)
  • Experience in defense, aerospace, or government contracting environments
  • Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms and GSOC technologies (e.g., PSIM, SIEM, travel risk tools)
  • Experience managing global or multi-regional security operations

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and oversee enterprise-wide security strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Lead security operations across multiple sites, ensuring consistency and effectiveness
  • Serve as the primary authority on security matters, advising executive leadership
  • Manage and maintain compliance with U.S. Government security requirements (e.g., NISPOM, DoD standards)
  • Oversee facility clearance (FCL) processes and personnel security clearance programs
  • Act as the Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO and Facility Security Officer (FSO) or supervise CPSO/FSO functions as required
  • Interface with government agencies, auditors, and contracting officers
  • Lead the strategic and operational management of a 24/7 GSOC supporting global operations
  • Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs), escalation protocols, and incident response workflows
  • Oversee real-time monitoring of threats, alarms, access control, travel risk, and global events
  • Integrate intelligence feeds, risk analysis tools, and communication platforms into GSOC operations
  • Ensure proper staffing, training, and performance management of GSOC personnel across shifts
  • Drive continuous improvement through metrics, reporting, and post-incident reviews
  • Develop and enforce physical security standards for offices, campuses, and sensitive facilities
  • Oversee access control systems, surveillance (CCTV), intrusion detection, and perimeter protection
  • Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for all facilities
  • Ensure secure handling, storage, and transmission of classified and sensitive materials
  • Establish programs to protect employees, executives, and corporate assets
  • Lead threat assessment and workplace violence prevention initiatives
  • Oversee incident response, crisis management, and support business continuity planning
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks across the organization
  • Lead internal investigations related to security breaches, Insider Threats, fraud, or misconduct
  • Collaborate with legal, HR, and IT teams on cross-functional risk issues
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing security team, including GSOC staff
  • Manage vendors, contractors, and security service providers
  • Develop training programs to promote security awareness across the organization
