About The Position

CoVerica is seeking a Director of Sales - P&C to drive strategic growth across Commercial Lines, Property & Casualty, and other niche lines within the Dallas-Fort Worth market. This is primarily a coaching role where you will train and develop a team of Commercial Lines producers, with success measured by the production you help them achieve, in addition to managing your own book of business. CoVerica is an employee-owned independent insurance agency with over 40 years of history, recognized as a Top 10 DFW Fastest Growing Property & Casualty Insurance Agency.

Requirements

  • Active Texas General Lines Property & Casualty License (required).
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration, Insurance/Risk Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of Commercial Lines / P&C sales experience.
  • Demonstrated success building a strong Commercial Lines book of business from the ground up — proof of concept that you can do it yourself before you lead others to do the same.
  • 5-10 years of sales management, coaching, or producer development experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial insurance sales, account underwriting, and agency operations.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with a proven track record of developing producers and growing team production.
  • A genuine desire to lead a team and mentor others — you measure your own success by how far you help someone else go, not just your own production.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry certifications and designations (CIC, CPCU, CRM) are a plus.
  • Experience with AMS360 and/or Salesforce Connect is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate directly with the President/CEO and Chief Development Officer on strategic sales initiatives that exceed Commercial Lines retention and revenue targets.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee sales and marketing strategies for Commercial Lines, Property & Casualty, and other niche products, in partnership with Client Service leaders and existing carrier partners.
  • Train, coach, and develop a team of Commercial Lines producers from onboarding through full production.
  • Set clear production goals and KPIs for each producer, and provide hands-on coaching, ride-alongs, and ongoing performance feedback to help them hit and exceed those targets.
  • Build a strong team environment and culture of accountability, developing relationships with producers, employees, key clients, carriers, and industry partners as the team's production grows.
  • Prospect and develop new Commercial Lines opportunities with business owners, CFOs, risk managers, and executive teams.
  • Generate qualified leads through outbound activity, referrals, centers of influence, and agency marketing campaigns.
  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand client goals around risk management, coverage, loss control, and total cost of risk.
  • Present and sell customized commercial insurance programs (Property, General Liability, Auto, Workers Compensation, Umbrella/Excess, and specialty lines) aligned to client objectives and budgets.
  • Meet or exceed new business revenue targets for Commercial Lines.
  • Oversee multi-channel Commercial Lines marketing initiatives, including digital marketing, advertising, events, and sponsorships, to build visibility and generate leads.
  • Analyze sales and marketing performance metrics, including lead generation, conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs, to identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights to shape sales strategy and product offerings.
  • Develop and manage sales forecasts and reporting to track performance against targets.
  • Stay current on industry regulations, insurtech, and emerging market trends across commercial P&C lines.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability insurance added at no cost to you.
  • Competitive base salary of $220,000–$230,000, plus incentive compensation tied to individual and team production.
  • Paid time off and bonus potential.
  • Gym/fitness facility with employee keycard access.
  • College loan repayment and tuition reimbursement programs.
  • Team-building activities and a genuinely collaborative culture.
