About The Position

As the Director of Retail Operations, your work helps transfer potential into opportunity. This position will provide directions for all activities pertaining to the region’s production and sales, including support and leadership to individual store locations. The role ensures that store locations are executing all the organization’s procedures and policies to meet operational guidelines. The position plays an integral role in ensuring our business units have a healthy team culture and that their operations are operationally sound and financially responsible.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED, preferred.
  • Associate degree or completion of related retail management course work preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in business management and supervisory experience of 10 or more employees in retail, manufacturing, production, or food services and/or demonstrated success and completion of Goodwill assigned training.
  • Related work experience and demonstrated ability to manage multiple business units.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills in English as well as interpersonal skills, bilingual a plus.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to adapt to growth and a changing environment within the Agency.
  • Ability to complete and maintain: CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Driver license for 3 years.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Car Insurance Verification, required.
  • Must pass MVR check and maintain a good driving record.
  • Reliable transportation and communication required.
  • Must be available to work during operating business hours as needed for business operations.
  • The work schedule includes days. Occasional evenings, holidays, blackout periods, and weekends may be required based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Through words and actions support Chattanooga Goodwill’s Mission, Vision, and Values; furthermore, actions and decisions will align with organizational guiding principles.
  • Maintain agency, employee, and participants confidentiality. Violation of confidentiality may be cause for termination.
  • Punctual and dependable attendance.
  • Monitors business goals and outputs to ensure budgeted goals are achieved and maintains expenditures in accordance with the Agency, departmental, and financial goals.
  • Hires, supervises, and develops direct and indirect reports to meet and/or exceed strategic goals, departmental growth, and financial expectations.
  • Manage assigned locations and support their leaders so they can meet predetermined business production and sales goals.
  • Comply with Agency policies and DGR standard operating procedures (SOP) and the Agency’s safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Establishes, communicates, and implements operation-related procedures (SOP) and performance standards.
  • Leads and participates in departmental and cross departmental project teams.
  • Maintain proficiency for tasks required in all workstations.
  • Attend all meetings and training as required by the Agency and participate in professional development and networking conferences and events.
  • Maintain all company records and reports accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Meet region’s sales and production goals.
  • Review and be familiar with Goodwill Industries of the Greater Chattanooga Area safety policies, programs and procedures and adhere to all safety rules, regulations, and safety codes.
  • Attend safety training and meetings and report any unsafe work conditions, accidents, or injuries immediately.
  • Frequent and regular travel to locations is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
