About The Position

The Director of Rehab Therapy Services is a member of the Rehabilitation Leadership Council and participates in establishing policies and procedures for all inpatient therapy services. The Director designs and implements a framework to integrate and coordinate patient care services and program development across the facility’s inpatient therapy departments, consistent with quality service and profit maximization. The role provides direction, expertise, and mentoring to support the growth and development of inpatient rehabilitation therapy services, and directs the daily operations of inpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy services.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Therapist.
• For the Speech discipline, a current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is required.
• At least seven years of experience as a therapist in an acute rehabilitation setting.
• At least five years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in establishing policies and procedures for all inpatient therapy services.
• Design and implement a framework to integrate and coordinate patient care services and program development across inpatient therapy departments.
• Provide direction, expertise, and mentoring to facilitate the growth and development of inpatient rehabilitation therapy services.
• Direct daily operations of inpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy services.
• Ensure therapy-department patient care services are appropriate to the scope and level of care for the patients served.
• Recruit, select, direct, and support the activities of Clinical Managers in the therapy departments at the assigned facility.
• Develop programs to promote staff recruitment, retention, and continuing education in conjunction with Clinical Managers, divisional Directors of Rehab Therapy Services, Human Resources, and the Director of Education.
