About The Position

As leaders in children’s mental health and wellness, St. Louis Children’s and KVC Health Systems Youth Mental Health Care have partnered to create one of the nation’s most innovative and transformative youth mental health and wellness campuses. The partnership includes a 77-bed acute care hospital and outpatient programs. Located on the KVC Missouri Children’s Mental Wellness Campus conveniently located in Webster Groves, Missouri, the peaceful environment and broad continuum of care allow children and families to access the appropriate level of treatment throughout their healing experience. The Director of Program Services provides direct oversight of program services including patient education and treatment, staff development, case consultation and direct intervention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, behavioral sciences, or related field.
  • Valid drivers license and auto insurance.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Three or more years in leadership and/or managerial experience in a health care setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
  • Behavioral health setting experience (preferred for leadership/managerial experience).
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook email.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all facets and services related to the milieu and programming for their respective program.
  • Develops, manages, and evaluates practices to ensure the program achieves identified outcomes.
  • Develop efficient and effective processes to ensure the provision of quality care.
  • Provider leadership to ensure program management and staff work in a cohesive manner within the disciplinary team.
  • Continually assess and maintain KVC’s trauma sensitive, safe, secure, and stable culture.
  • Ensure services are family centered, connected to the community; and which rely on evidence-based practice necessary to support clinical services.
  • As part of the leadership team this position monitors and takes responsibility for overall care for patients and families served.
  • Responsible for assessing staff professional development needs and provide appropriate training.
  • Ensure employees meet performance expectations including contract requirements, timelines, regulations, federal and state laws.
  • Rotates as administrator on call as necessary and is available by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to the staff when assigned the on-call responsibilities.
  • Responsible for maintaining functional knowledge of all KVC systems, including but not limited to third party electronic health records and human resources information systems. Participate and contribute to health system committees and workgroups to enhance information systems as required.
  • Develops and maintains systems to ensure services are compliant with all company, local, state, and federal regulatory standards and contract terms and conditions and understand applicable accreditation requirements (TJC, COA, and CMS).
  • Demonstrates positive leadership for patients and employees and is an excellent role model of trauma informed care practices.
  • Represent KVC as a leader to foster relationships with stakeholders and community partners.

  • Ensures program managers assess the performance of employees and follow through with corrective and disciplinary actions when appropriate.
  • Responsible for ensuring patients receive active treatment including daily living, educational, and recreational activities; and convenes multi-disciplinary treatment teams to staff difficult cases as needed.
