About The Position

Unity House is seeking a compassionate and experienced Program Director to lead our Mental Health Outpatient Treatment and Rehabilitative Services (MHOTRS) Clinic. This pivotal leadership role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by overseeing all aspects of clinical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of excellence in trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, clinical expertise, and a deep commitment to empowering individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders. This is a management position focused on oversight and administration of the program, with some direct client contact. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of supervisory and/or administrative experience in behavioral health settings.
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals with serious mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and high service needs.
  • Strong understanding of OMH regulations, Medicaid billing, and documentation requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and provide after-hours support to staff as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and administrative oversight of MHOTRS clinical staff and program operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH), Medicaid, and agency standards.
  • Directly supervise and support clinic staff to maintain consistent, high-quality, person-centered service delivery.
  • Oversee service integration and promote best practices in recovery-oriented, trauma-informed care.
  • Review and monitor utilization, documentation, and billing practices for compliance and efficiency.
  • Facilitate staff meetings, trainings, and performance reviews to promote professional development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the program.
  • Monitor outcome data and support quality improvement initiatives to enhance client experiences and recovery outcomes.
  • Serve as a liaison to community partners, state agencies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and belonging among staff and clients.
