About The Position

Milliman’s CMH Health practice is seeking a Director of Products and Engineering to create the Milliman Pharmacy Platform from concept through launch and scale. This builder-owner role sets the platform vision, works closely with pharmacists, actuaries, clients, and engineering leaders to determine what to build and integrate, and leads AI product engineers and feature owners. The director owns adoption, client impact, and sustainable business growth. The role defines target customer segments and the platform’s value proposition, develops a multi-year roadmap, and determines how existing Milliman pharmacy tools and data assets fit into the platform. It leads product discovery with internal consultants and design-partner clients, makes key architecture and platform trade-offs with engineering, incorporates AI capabilities, and ships an MVP before iterating on actual usage. The director builds and scales a cross-functional team, establishes operating and delivery standards, and develops future product and feature owners. The role is accountable for commercial results, including pricing and packaging, sales support, pilots, renewals, and expansion; it also develops executive relationships with clients and represents Milliman in the market. The director supports quality, risk management, privacy, HIPAA, AI governance, and secure development practices for the platform. The position is preferably based on-site in Milliman’s Chicago, Milwaukee, or Hartford office, though remote candidates will be considered. The expected application deadline is March 25, 2027. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman.

  • Understanding of reimbursement (AWP, NADAC, and MAC), rebates, formularies, specialty drugs, and the current regulatory landscape.
  • Ability to discuss architecture, data models, integrations, and build-versus-buy decisions with engineers and explain them in business terms to executives.
  • Hands-on experience using generative AI and LLM tooling to build or ship products.
  • Experience managing a product P&L, budget, or revenue line, supporting sales, and growing client relationships.
  • Experience building and developing teams, delegating effectively, and coaching others into ownership roles.

  • Own commercial results, including pricing and packaging, pipeline support, pilots, renewals, and expansion.
  • Serve as the senior product voice in sales conversations and explain product capabilities in terms of client return on investment.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with anchor clients and co-create features with them where appropriate.
