About The Position

Progyny is seeking a Director of Product to define and lead product strategy for Family Building Navigation. The role shapes how members discover, understand, and engage with family-building benefits, services, and care programs by connecting intuitive digital experiences with personalized human guidance. Reporting to the GVP, Product, the Director owns the vision, strategy, roadmap, and measurable outcomes for an integrated navigation experience serving members and enterprise clients. The role works across Product, Engineering, Design, Clinical, Service Experience, Client Experience, Commercial, Finance, and Operations to turn complex needs into scalable capabilities and a sustainable operating model. This product leader operates strategically and operationally, establishes clarity in an evolving space, influences senior stakeholders, and brings digital, clinical, service, and business capabilities together into a cohesive member journey.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management or closely related experience, including significant leadership of product strategy, roadmaps, and delivery in digital health, employer-sponsored benefits, care navigation, or another complex service-enabled environment.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a product area or portfolio, with accountability for vision, investment priorities, cross-functional execution, and measurable customer and business outcomes.
  • Experience designing scalable navigation or engagement experiences that combine digital capabilities with personalized human support.
  • A track record of improving complex, multi-step customer or member journeys, including discovery, needs identification, benefit understanding, referral, outreach, enrollment, and ongoing engagement.
  • Experience shaping workflows and tools that enable human-assisted services, such as routing, case management, proactive outreach, service-team enablement, and operational automation.
  • Strong judgment about when digital self-service and automation improve the experience and when human interaction is essential to understanding, trust, and follow-through.
  • Ability to turn ambiguous opportunities into a compelling strategy, explicit tradeoffs, actionable priorities, and measurable results.
  • Strong analytical and commercial judgment, including experience evaluating conversion, service capacity, cost to serve, client value, and business impact.
  • Proven ability to influence and lead across technical, clinical, operational, client-facing, and commercial teams without relying on direct authority.
  • Executive-level communication skills, including the ability to frame decisions, surface risks, recommend a path forward, and build alignment among diverse senior stakeholders.
  • Deep empathy for members navigating sensitive health and family-building decisions, with a commitment to inclusive, accessible, and trustworthy experiences.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Define the long-term direction for Family Building Navigation and translate member, client, clinical, and business needs into investments, measurable goals, and a sequenced roadmap.
  • Improve how members identify needs, understand benefits and programs, receive guidance, take action, enroll, and remain engaged.
  • Determine where self-service, personalization, proactive outreach, and one-to-one guidance best serve members, and design seamless cross-channel handoffs with shared context, clear ownership, and continuity.
  • Develop journeys that help eligible members discover relevant programs, overcome barriers, and progress from awareness and referral through enrollment and sustained participation.
  • Partner with Service Experience and Clinical leaders to shape workflows, routing, case management, service tools, automation, and team enablement while balancing personalization, quality, responsiveness, capacity, and cost to serve.
  • Partner with Client Experience to define implementation capabilities and tooling that simplify the collection and configuration of benefit information needed to coordinate Family Building Navigation.
  • Align Product, Engineering, Design, Digital Member Experience, Clinical, Service Experience, and Client Experience teams on requirements, dependencies, sequencing, risks, and shared outcomes.
  • Partner with Commercial, Finance, Clinical, and Operations leaders to assess market and client needs, inform positioning, packaging, and pricing, and define a sustainable delivery model.
  • Use member research, client feedback, operational insight, market context, experimentation, and performance data to validate opportunities, test assumptions, prioritize capabilities, and develop business cases.
  • Define and monitor measures for navigation success, enrollment conversion, engagement, member and client satisfaction, service effectiveness, operational efficiency, and business value; turn insights into improvement priorities.
  • Communicate strategy, progress, tradeoffs, risks, and investment recommendations clearly, build alignment among senior leaders, and resolve ambiguity that could slow execution.
  • Model strong product judgment, structured decision-making, customer-centered thinking, and disciplined execution while mentoring and influencing product partners across the organization.
