About the position
As the Director of Product POS Core at kevin., your role will be to define the strategy and direction of the POS Core area, focusing on core functionalities such as core processing, SoftPOS acceptance, and core capabilities. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams and commercial functions to translate the strategy into product roadmaps and execute them. Managing a senior team, your responsibility will also include developing individuals into managers. Success in this role means enabling merchants worldwide to offer non-card payments on traditional POS terminals and mobile devices, ensuring a fast, efficient, and secure payment experience for consumers.
Responsibilities
- Define the strategy and direction of the POS Core area
- Translate the strategy into product roadmaps and execute them with Engineering teams
- Establish clear and scalable frameworks for investment decisions and create transparency for stakeholders
- Manage a senior team of 3-5 product talents and develop them into managers
- Develop a deeper understanding of customer needs and solve pertinent problems using modern product development approaches
- Define a multi-year product vision and strategy for POS core
- Build and maintain commercial relationships with intermediaries (acquirers and processors)
- Work at a quick pace and tackle a wide variety of topics and opportunities on a global scale
- Use strategic thinking and a creative mindset to strategize and innovate
- Provide structure and break down complex problem domains for the team or stakeholders
- Utilize discovery techniques and data analysis to drive outcomes
- Install methods and frameworks to find valuable opportunities and maximize return on investment
- Build trustful relationships with senior stakeholders and cooperate in projects with many dependencies
- Coach and mentor other Product Managers and develop talent
- Create a culture of psychological safety, authenticity, and support within the product team
- Have a passion for payments, POS, and a good understanding of the ecosystem of merchants, PSPs, Acquirers, and customers
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in modern product management environments as a product leader
- Strong product leadership culture
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Ability to create compelling and actionable product visions and strategies
- Expertise in discovery techniques and outcome-driven approach
- Analytical skills and ability to exploit and interpret data
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of methods and frameworks for identifying valuable opportunities and maximizing return on investment
- Ability to build trustful relationships with senior stakeholders
- Coaching and mentoring skills
- Passion for payments, POS, and understanding of the ecosystem of merchants/PSPs/Acquirers/customers
- Understanding of the hardware business (terminals) is a plus
