About the position
As the Head of Data at kevin., you will be responsible for developing and implementing the vision for the company's data infrastructure and stack. You will provide strategic guidance and assistance to the Engineering team, collaborate across the company to share best practices, and establish forward-looking data and technology objectives. Additionally, you will work on data pipelines, assemble complex data sets, and build analytics tools to provide actionable insights. Your role will also involve mentoring other engineers, automating processes, and building a team of data engineers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the vision for the data infrastructure/stack and provide strategic guidance to the Engineering team
- Collaborate across the company to enable best practices and reusable tools for the analyst community
- Establish data and technology objectives and develop strategies for the team to achieve them
- Mentor other engineers and keep the enterprise on the cutting edge of technology
- Work on ETL/ELT data pipelines to ensure relevant business units have access to necessary information
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet business requirements
- Identify and implement process improvements, automate manual processes, optimize data delivery, and redesign infrastructure for scalability
- Build the infrastructure for data extraction, transformation, and loading using SQL, Python, and AWS Services
- Build analytics tools to provide actionable insights into key business performance metrics
- Assist stakeholders with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
- Build a team of data engineers to drive data-driven decision-making
- Present insights and share knowledge within and outside the team
- Work with teams within the business to understand and meet business needs
Requirements
- Python and SQL proficient knowledge
- Experience with data processing frameworks: Spark, Kafka, Flink, Storm etc.
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, etc.
- Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift, Lambda
- Experience in managing BI tools like Tableau, Looker etc. would be a plus
