About The Position

The Modern Classrooms Project (MCP) is seeking a Director of Product Marketing to establish and lead the product marketing function as the organization introduces its first education technology products. This senior individual contributor role is crucial for the success of MCP's go-to-market strategy. The position requires a startup mindset, creativity, and a hands-on approach, with a strong emphasis on leveraging AI tools for productivity and scale. The role is fully remote for USA-based employees, operating primarily on US Eastern time zone hours, with expected travel between 10% and 25%.

Requirements

  • Experienced product marketer with practical knowledge of essential function tools, including generating customer and competitive insights, creating product messaging frameworks, and developing GTM strategy from scratch.
  • Direct experience with common product marketing approaches (e.g., PMA, Pragmatic) is helpful.
  • Deep understanding of the K-12 market, including concepts like instructional strategies, competency/mastery-based learning, and blended learning.
  • Fluency in the needs and challenges faced by educators and education leaders.
  • A builder mentality, excited about creating process, templates, and strategies from scratch.
  • Ability to be both a strategist and a hands-on marketer, comfortable with high-level strategy and detailed collateral creation.
  • Genuine curiosity for the role of AI in marketing and serious hands-on familiarity with using AI tools in a marketing context.
  • Competency in AI tools like Claude.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with MCP's specific tools and platforms, especially Salesforce (CRM and Pardot), Asana, Google Workspace, Claude (Chat/Cowork, Design, Code).

Responsibilities

  • Own the product messaging framework for MCP's product and service lines, including new solutions in development, by synthesizing customer, market, and competitive insights.
  • Develop new messaging strategies aligned with customer needs and pain points, and ensure consistent communication across internal and external audiences.
  • Partner closely with product and innovation teams to ensure messaging success.
  • Own the product launch and go-to-market (GTM) motion and execution for upcoming service and technology solutions.
  • Serve as the primary accountability for successful GTM rollouts, coordinating schedules, planning, and execution across the company.
  • Develop and execute a sustainable sales enablement strategy in partnership with Product, Innovation, RevOps, and Marketing colleagues.
  • Create necessary content for sales enablement, ensuring sales and partner development teams are equipped with evidence, collateral, insights, and tools for customer conversations.
  • Build and lead the 'Evidence & Impact Engine' to ensure a continuous flow of research findings, case studies, and testimonials to partner teams and marketing channels.
  • Ensure all impact stories support the wider brand narrative.
  • Define the role and collaborative structure of product marketing within MCP and with external strategic partners.
