Beacon Biosignals•Boston, MA
•$200,000 - $215,000•Remote

About The Position

Beacon Biosignals is seeking a Director of Product Design to lead and grow its shared Product Design function, which serves the full business. The design scope includes EEG headbands and other devices, mobile apps used by participants and patients at home, web applications for clinical teams and trial sponsors, printed materials for patients and site staff, and internal business processes across logistics, support, and clinical operations. The role leads a team of three senior product designers, sets the vision for how design works at Beacon, and plans the function’s growth as the company scales. It is expected to remain close to the craft through hands-on modeling of best practices alongside the team. The position reports to Beacon’s VP of Platform. The Director will lead and coach the design team, shape design strategy and prioritization across hardware, mobile, web, print, and business-process experiences, and establish processes, standards, and shared systems that support quality and scale. The role builds cross-functional partnerships, develops research practices and a deep understanding of users and internal operations, and ensures rigorous, well-documented design contributions to regulated products in partnership with Quality and Regulatory. It also owns the function’s headcount plan, budget, and vendor relationships. Beacon supports asynchronous remote work and has office hubs in Boston, New York City, and Paris. Candidates based in Boston or the surrounding area are preferred. The base salary range is $200,000–$215,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. Total compensation also includes equity, PTO, and other benefits. Beacon values curiosity, simplicity, composability, a self-service mindset, empathy, and diversity.

  • Experience or familiarity with medical devices, clinical diagnostics, real-world data, pharma/biotech, or related fields.

  • Ability to remain hands-on when useful while delegating appropriately.
  • Experience designing service and business-process experiences and improving organizational operations.
