Director of Product & Cloud Engineering
About The Position
The Director of Product & Cloud Engineering leads Product Development, the engineering team responsible for building and operating BI WORLDWIDE’s recognition and rewards platform. The role leads and mentors engineering managers and teams while overseeing how the organization governs, secures, and manages the cost of its cloud environment as it transitions away from its data center. The position calls for an experienced engineering leader who can develop managers, remain technically engaged in key decisions, and bring strong AWS cloud governance, security, and cost-management expertise. The director collaborates across product, client services, sales, security, and engineering teams to deliver the product roadmap, maintain platform health, and guide the migration of applications to the cloud. Success means developing a strong product engineering organization, delivering roadmap commitments predictably, maintaining a stable and secure platform, centralizing cloud cost and security standards, and moving applications out of the data center without disrupting clients.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading engineering teams and engineering managers.
- Proven experience mentoring direct reports and building strong teams.
- Experience leading multiple teams through a sprint-based SDLC with predictable delivery.
- Deep software engineering background and technical credibility with engineers and architects.
- 5+ years of hands-on AWS cloud experience and strong knowledge of cloud engineering and DevOps.
- Cloud governance experience, including FinOps, tagging, IAM, and security baselines, with strong knowledge of cloud and infrastructure security.
- Ability to influence teams and leaders who do not report to the role.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience with executive audiences and clients.
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

- Experience migrating applications and databases from on-premise data centers to the cloud.
Responsibilities
- Lead product engineering managers, UX designers, and the Cloud Engineering team; hire, develop, and retain talent.
- Mentor and coach engineering managers as they own their areas and run a sprint-based SDLC.
- Set cross-team priorities and make trade-offs that support predictable product roadmap delivery.
- Own product platform health, including reliability, performance, and disaster recovery.
- Partner with Product, Client Services, Sales, and offshore engineering teams to deliver roadmap commitments.
- Own cross-team cloud governance, including FinOps cost management, tagging, account structure, and access management.
- Partner with the Security team to keep the cloud environment secure, monitored, and compliant.
- Establish and lead a Cloud Center of Excellence that sets shared cloud standards across functions.
- Oversee the task force migrating applications from the private data center to the cloud.
- Provide director-level communication, status reporting, and escalation management to leadership.
