About The Position

The Director of Player Development and Video is responsible for all video content related to the women's basketball program including practice and game video, scouting video, and any exchange with opponents. This position will also be an on-court assistant coach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any relevant field of study
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with the following relevant work experience: Demonstrated work experience with applicable recruiting software is required.
  • This position lifts and carries media equipment weighing up to fifty pounds on an occasional basis and works with visual images and audio files to create content.
  • The scope of the job frequently requires travel and evening and/or weekend activities.

  • Experience in a University setting doing similar work is preferred.
  • Master's degree in any relevant field of study

Responsibilities

  • Manages all video related equipment and activities for the women's basketball program including coordination, management, and video breakdown of practices, opponents, and game film.
  • Operates video equipment and records games, practices, captures events, performances, community service activities, and other related special events for the women's basketball program and manages scouting breakdown and provides appropriate video to staff in a timely fashion.
  • Assumes responsibility for a particular aspect of the women's basketball program as assigned by the Head Women's Basketball Coach, planning short and long terms objectives under the leadership of the head coach, demonstrating technical expertise in the basics of the sport, and teaching the fundamentals and advanced level skills and game strategies to student-athletes, supervising practice sessions, scouting future opponents, providing expert advice to the head coach and team members, providing guidance or mentoring to student athletes throughout the academic year, coordinating with the Academic Assistance staff members, and monitoring academic progress of participating student-athletes.
  • Abides by and complies with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Conference rules, academic standards, requirements, and policies of the University, and all guidelines and policies of the Athletics department and reports any concerns of compromise or violation of rules, standards, guidelines or policies to the Director of Athletics.
  • Promotes a positive image of the intercollegiate athletics program and the University through participation in community and professional organizations, representing the University at professional meetings as required, promoting participation in community service activities by student athletes, and supporting established athletic fund-raising goals by actively participating in fund-raising events and promotional activities for intercollegiate athletics, assists in the formulation of team and department fundraising activities, as directed by the Head Coach and the Director of Athletics.
  • Contributes to the overall success of the University's intercollegiate athletics program by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach or the Director of Athletics.
