About The Position

Direct and oversee all video and technology duties and responsibilities associated with the women’s basketball program in a manner designed to optimize the basketball development of student-athletes, the efficiency of the entire program, and the ability to recruit high-level prospective student-athletes. Additionally, manage the recruiting and evaluation of prospective student-athletes, including transfers. Under the direction of the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach will also be responsible for designing, implementing, and coaching on-court skill development programs for student-athletes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or statement explaining how relevant experience substitutes)
  • 1-4 years of experience in an Intercollegiate Athletic Department (student, GA, or employee preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-directed, motivated, and able to work under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Adherence to NCAA and member conference rules and regulations
  • Subject to a pre-employment background check
  • May be required to obtain CPR, motor vehicle safety certification, and other job-related certifications

Responsibilities

  • Create and Manage Program Documents (e.g., on-court strategy, recruiting planning, program messaging)
  • Assist on-court performance through editing and coding practices and competitions to optimize student-athlete development
  • Analyze team performance in offensive and defensive sets, and individual student-athlete performance
  • Provide video, analytics, and related information to the coaching staff
  • Produce videos for recruiting prospective student-athletes, including home visit presentations
  • Create and utilize a system for managing digital assets (photos and videos)
  • Ensure all technology in locker rooms, practice facility, and arena is properly set up and functional
  • Gather background information on transfer portal prospects (playing background, character, social media, personal expectations)
  • Research prospect's desired role, in-game usage, and fit within program culture
  • Create recruiting presentations based on research
  • Conduct video analysis to evaluate high school and transfer portal prospects
  • Create streamlined video edits for coaching staff summarizing prospect's skills
  • Manage recruiting materials from basketball events
  • Use event booklets to create a Prospect Database
  • Train graduate assistant coaches on video analysis platforms (Hudl, Sports Code, Synergy)
  • Train graduate assistant coaches on graphic design for recruiting and program messaging
  • Supervise the procurement and management of all technology-related expenses
  • Collaborate with IT personnel and vendors to optimize cost-effectiveness
  • Provide strategic analysis and updates on technology, identifying improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with WBB Chief of Staff on technology expenses to stay within budget
  • Assist with official and unofficial visit itineraries and execution
  • Conduct off-campus evaluations and recruit high school prospective student-athletes (per NCAA rules)
  • Provide on-court instruction and player development, with specialization and general knowledge of all positions and basketball systems

Benefits

  • Estimated pay range: $55,000-60,000 annually
  • Offered salary commensurate with work experience and educational background
