About The Position

Grand Canyon University's Athletic Department is seeking a Director of Player Development and Analytics to join their elite Division I program. This role is crucial for complementing player development and recruitment efforts through data, video collection, and analysis. The position will also be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining technology associated with the sport program. The Director will report to the Head Coach and is a key contributor to the program's future success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least three years of intercollegiate and/or elite level sport specific coaching and/or playing and training experience required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Division 1 sport specific program and NCAA rules required.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • CPR, First Aid and Coaches’ Safety Training certifications required.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment investigation.
  • Must be able to lawfully accept employment in the U.S.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Experience coaching in NCAA Division I preferred.
  • AED certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the collection of data using sport analytics technology applications.
  • Analyze and communicate data to the appropriate sport lead.
  • Manage the collection and processing of film for practices and games using sport-specific technologies.
  • Assist in capturing content and data for program promotion and fan engagement.
  • Organize and manage film and data for in-game strategy against future opponents.
  • Provide strategic direction to the sport program based on research and data-informed decisions.
  • Create reports and present data and film analysis to players and coaches.
  • Advise the coaching staff on utilizing metrics for training programs to enhance athletic performance.
  • Collaborate with the strength and conditioning staff to incorporate analytics for biomechanics, motor behavior, and movement.
  • Conduct opponent scouting and disseminate information to the coaching staff.
  • Work with other sports to utilize resources in recruitment and opponent strategy.
  • Assist the head coach with competition scheduling.
  • Assist the head coach in planning, marketing, and operating sports camps.
  • Ensure all aspects of the designated sports program comply with University standards and conference and national affiliation rules and regulations.
  • Identify potential risks and help establish criteria and plans for correction.
  • Promote good sportsmanship behavior, enforce discipline, and establish/oversee penalties for breaches of standards.
  • Actively participate in the promotion of GCU athletics and campus events.
  • Assist coaching staff with alumni engagement and/or fundraising events.
  • Perform duties which may require irregular hours, out-of-town, and/or overnight travel.
