About The Position

The Director of Physician Services provides strategic and operational support to hospital facilities and physician practices across multiple specialties in hospital and outpatient settings. The role builds effective partnerships with hospital and operations teams and oversees the operations, budgets, and general management of assigned practices and clinics. This position supports practices and clinics at HCA Florida Mercy Hospital and surrounding areas in the Miami-Dade Market. The Director has strategic and tactical responsibility for the business and clinical functions of assigned practices, including administrative and clinical staff, providers, front desk, medical records, nursing, and ancillary services. The position includes human resources responsibilities, physician and staff supervision, practice budgeting, physician recruiting and contracting, and collaboration with physicians and division leadership on practice growth, quality, patient outcomes, and satisfaction.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
Three or more years of leadership experience in practice management across multiple locations.
Five or more years of relevant clinical operations experience.
Effective working knowledge of healthcare financial management, operations, and strategy, including medical practice accounting, third-party reimbursement issues, patient flow, and facilities management.

Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience preferred.
Degree in health or business administration preferred.
CMPE completion is a plus.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Division service line leaders and hospital business development leaders.
Identify practice and business development opportunities to increase market share.
Direct and manage strategic projects involving patient flow, patient satisfaction, practice volume, billing and collections, service utilization, coding, and physician and staff training.
Manage strategic and tactical business and clinical functions through administrative and clinical staff to ensure efficient service delivery and effective resource utilization.
Carry out human resources responsibilities for assigned practices and clinics.
Develop, implement, and monitor practice budgets; analyze the financial impact of changes and forecasts, review expenditures, and recommend corrective action.
Supervise physicians and practice staff.
Meet regularly with operations leadership, physicians, hospital administration, and other constituents to review practice strategy, market and division goals, financial performance, and practice indicators.
Oversee physician recruiting and contracting in collaboration with Physician Services colleagues.
Work with physicians and division leadership on practice growth and quality solutions that maintain and improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Promote consistent patient interactions that improve patient satisfaction.
Perform other duties as assigned.
