About The Position

Karbon is seeking a Director of Performance Marketing to lead its paid and digital growth initiatives. This role requires a leader who can strategize and implement systems to leverage AI in marketing, including AI-native and agentic search. The Director will be responsible for paid media strategy and investment, driving website performance as a commercial asset, and architecting lifecycle campaigns to grow revenue. A key aspect of the role is building a team that utilizes AI for efficiency, automation, and faster experimentation. The position involves owning the paid media portfolio across various channels, managing a significant budget with a focus on ROAS and payback period, and applying AI tools for improved targeting and reduced CAC. Collaboration with Sales and RevOps is crucial for aligning paid investment with pipeline targets, utilizing predictive analytics and AI-assisted forecasting. Rigorous measurement frameworks and attribution models, enhanced by AI analysis, are also part of the responsibilities. The role also encompasses owning the company website as a commercial asset, leading efforts in traffic quality, CRO, and pipeline contribution. AI-powered personalization, dynamic content, and intelligent chat will be used to enhance on-site engagement. Leading large-scale experimentation with AI-assisted tools and ensuring site optimization for both traditional crawlers and AI ingestion pipelines are key. The Director will also manage Karbon's presence on review platforms like G2. A defining responsibility is leading the strategy for AI-native and agentic search, including SEO, GEO, AEO, and agentic channels. This involves driving visibility within AI-native discovery surfaces like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews, and developing strategies to be referenced by AI models. The role requires anticipating and building for the agentic web, where AI agents research and recommend software. Collaboration with content, product marketing, and engineering is necessary to adapt site architecture and content strategy for AI interpretation. Furthermore, the Director will design and execute integrated growth campaigns across the customer lifecycle, from prospecting to retention, using AI tools for faster campaign development, creative iteration, and audience segmentation. Building and optimizing nurture programs with AI-driven lead scoring and partnering with other departments to grow pipeline and revenue are essential. The role also includes owning the buyer intent data strategy and operationalizing intent signals across various marketing functions. The Director will champion AI adoption across demand generation, identifying and implementing AI tools to improve lead speed and quality. Building AI-enhanced workflows for a lean team to achieve high output is expected. Staying current with AI tools and fostering a culture of intelligent experimentation are also key aspects of this role.
