About The Position

The Director of Manufacturing oversees the entire flow of goods, from receipt of materials to finished goods shipment. This team member will oversee all production and maintenance operations, develop strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs and meet business goals by managing inventory and shipments, leading multiple teams across the organization, leveraging data analytics for continuous improvement, maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to VEI’s policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree or related experience, or a combination of both
  • Deep understanding of supply chain principles, ERP/MRP systems and analytics
  • 5+ years in a manufacturing or supply chain director role
  • Strong communication, negotiation, project management and team building skills
  • Proven ability to coach and develop reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work well under pressure with multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects
  • Ability to delegate key tasks to direct reports
  • Strong Time Management skills

  • Decision making
  • Moderate travel required - ability to travel occasionally for activities such as out-of-town meetings or training

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Operations Department to ensure Blending and Filling are operating safely, efficiently and continuously improving in a way that meets and exceeds expectations of the business
  • Lead the Maintenance Department to ensure all work assignments within operational and facilities maintenance, training, PM’s and projects are completed timely while maintaining a safe work environment
  • Lead the Inventory Control Department to ensure all received materials are entered into Deacom, inventory counts are accurate, AFD’s are up to date and materials are pulled in time for production
  • Lead the Shipping Department to ensure FG inventory is accurate, customers are notified of product releases within 24 hours of obtaining a COA and shipments are made correctly to assist in hitting company revenue targets
  • Lead the Planning Department to ensure jobs in Deacom are up to date, accurate and available for review by all departments and jobs are issued timely and accurately
  • Become a SME on our ERP system (Deacom) and all related Operations and Maintenance related software (OEE system, CMMS System, eQMS system…etc) to assist in troubleshooting any issues within and outside the departments reporting to this team member
  • Communicates receiving and shipping conflicts with key stakeholders: internal & external
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance management to develop and improve the inventory control, continuous improvement and shipping functions
  • Manages and drives the attainment of KPI´s (Blending / Packaging OEE, Units per Labor Hour, PM Adherence, Inventory Accuracy, Schedule Adherence, OTD…etc.) and drives continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with lots of moving parts while balancing competing priorities
  • Lead, mentor and develop teams, fostering collaboration across all departments directly and indirectly through themself and direct reports. Assist in leading other departments when needed to hit company goals and metrics
  • Manage budgets and resources for all respective departments under the scope of this position
  • Comply with all safety and SOP procedures
  • Must be available for weekends as needed
