About The Position

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Athletics Department is seeking a qualified Director of On-Campus Recruiting for Football. This position will report directly to the Director of Player Personnel for Football. The role involves developing and implementing recruiting innovations, ensuring NCAA and Sun Belt compliance, and coordinating official and unofficial visits to campus. The Director will also serve as a liaison between various university departments on recruiting matters, supervise recruiting staff, and assist with student internships and worker positions. Additionally, the role requires managing the recruiting database, developing branded communications, and supporting the university's educational mission and intercollegiate athletics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Minimum of one (1) years’ experience working in athletics at a college/university or comparable.

  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, public relations, interpersonal, customer service, and supervisory skills when working with student-athletes, faculty, staff, coaches, and administration.

  • Have strong work ethic and be a person of high integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference, and Institutional rules as they apply to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Athletics program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement recruiting innovations for Football by evaluating best practices in college recruiting and related arena of branding and communications.
  • Ensure NCAA and Sun Belt compliance and complete required documentation for all recruiting activities in liaison with Compliance Services.
  • Responsible for supervising, planning, coordinating, and executing official and unofficial visits to campus (itineraries, travel, hotel, hosts, meals, name tags, seating charts, compliance paperwork, complimentary tickets, etc.) including game day.
  • Serve as an additional liaison between all departments on recruiting matters (compliance, student services, strength and conditioning, sports medicine, travel, business, facilities, housing, parking, tickets, etc.).
  • Responsible for supervision and assignment of all recruiting staff on game day, Junior days (Preview Day), official-visits, and daily practice visits by prospects.
  • Assist with providing a broad based and specific experience to students through internship opportunities and student worker positions.
  • Coordinate the completion and submission of required paperwork and expense reports.
  • Communicate with coaches and/or prospects when traveling to campus.
  • Serve as an ambassador of the University and its Athletics Department to all Public entities.
  • Maintain the recruiting database by processing incoming prospect communications, recruiting services data and coaching staff's evaluations both academic and athletic. Ensure timely movement and precise updates of prospects through evaluation pipeline.
  • Collaborate with other coaches and recruiting staff toward group events.
  • Develop and produce branded communications and marketing materials to prospects and their families-both print and digital.
  • Support the educational mission of the University and the professional obligation to enhance intercollegiate athletics by providing opportunities to educate students interested in this field.
  • Be committed to the compliance process and assist with rules-education.
  • Other duties as assigned.
