About The Position

As the Director of Nursing, you will ensure the delivery of top-quality care while leading a dedicated nursing team. Central to this role is our belief in resident-directed care—an approach that honors individual lifestyles, preferences, and dignity. You will collaborate with residents, families, and staff to create care plans that empower each individual to achieve their highest practical level of well-being.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of professional nursing experience in long-term care
  • Three years in nursing administration or leadership roles
  • Current RN license in California
  • BSN required
  • Strong leadership, business acumen, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in budget management, data analysis, and operational strategy

Nice To Haves

  • DON experience preferred
  • RAC-CT certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures that reflect operational excellence, align with organizational goals, and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Strategically manage departmental budgets, staffing levels, and resources to maximize efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of care.
  • Lead recruitment, training, and retention efforts to build a high-performing, engaged nursing team.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Oversee performance management and professional development programs to ensure staff growth aligns with organizational objectives.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with interdisciplinary teams, external partners, and regulatory agencies to achieve organizational success.
  • Drive quality assurance initiatives, ensuring optimal clinical outcomes and adherence to key performance indicators.
  • Monitor and optimize operational workflows to enhance resident satisfaction and streamline care delivery.
  • Cultivate a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout the nursing department.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to inform decision-making and align nursing services with broader organizational strategies.
