About The Position

This is a nursing leadership role in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) located in Cut Bank, Montana. The position offers the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of patients and the community. The Director of Nursing will guide nursing services across various departments including emergency, inpatient, swing bed, surgical, outpatient, and specialty care. The role involves supporting the professional growth of nursing teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, and balancing strategic planning with direct patient care support. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise, steady leadership, and a people-first approach, with the ability to work closely with nurses, CNAs, and senior leadership. The position emphasizes teamwork, family, and service.

Requirements

  • Current Montana RN License or multistate compact license
  • Minimum of five (5) years leadership experience in nursing required
  • RQI Provider (BLS) within seven (7) days of hire
  • ACLS, PALS, within 6 months of hire
  • Current TNCC or ENPC, STABLE, and NRP within 12 months of hire
  • Relevant knowledge of healthcare delivery, health reform, and care systems
  • Understanding of critical access and rural healthcare environments is ideal

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Build trust and encourage confidence among clinical teams.
  • Partner with clinical and senior leadership.
  • Attend meetings and educational classes for staff reviews, unit staff meetings, quality improvement, clinical case reviews, required education, and certification courses.
