About The Position

Diversicare is seeking a Director of Nursing (RN) to lead the nursing department at its Sedgwick, Kansas facility. The Director of Nursing shapes the quality of care and life for residents, advances the nursing department, and contributes to the facility’s mission. The role champions Diversicare’s values of trust, respect, customer focus, compassion, diplomacy, appreciation, and strong communication.

The Director assumes responsibility in the Administrator’s absence, supports policy and regulatory compliance, manages department resources, develops nursing staff, and evaluates nursing services to promote resident well-being and functional independence.

Requirements

• Hold a current Registered Nurse license issued by the State Board of Nursing.
• Demonstrate managerial and administrative ability.
• Have at least two years of supervisory experience.
• Be proficient in organizing and planning programs, assigning personnel, and evaluating reports and data to support quality improvement.

• Experience in long-term care or working with geriatric populations.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility in the Administrator’s absence.
• Implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and collaborate with key stakeholders to maintain best practices.
• Assist in preparing and administering the department budget and ensure efficient resource allocation.
• Recruit, coach, and evaluate nursing staff, fostering continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Analyze and evaluate nursing services to enhance resident care.
• Develop systems that promote resident well-being and functional independence.
