About The Position

Aviata Health Group is seeking a Director of Maintenance for Aviata at the Gardens in Tallahassee, Florida. The role plans, organizes, develops, and directs the Maintenance Department in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards and regulations, ensuring the facility is maintained safely and comfortably. The position is suited to a team-oriented, driven person who is interested in helping build facility culture and supporting residents and their families.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent, at minimum.
• At least three years of supervisory experience in a maintenance- or plant-related position.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Qualified, compassionate, dedicated, and team-oriented approach.

Nice To Haves

• A secondary degree from an accredited vocational or technical school.

Responsibilities

• Develop and ensure implementation of a preventative maintenance plan, including specific tasks and completion time frames.
• Establish an equipment and utilities management program.
• Hire, train, and supervise enough maintenance technicians to address assigned tasks effectively.
• Participate in regular facility safety inspection tours and ensure findings are documented.
• Provide facility-wide training on safety issues.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building grounds.
• Ensure supplies and equipment are maintained to provide a safe and comfortable environment.
• Create and implement new ideas and concepts to improve systems and processes and achieve superior results.
