About The Position

Pure Hockey is a privately-owned specialty sporting goods company with over 100 hockey retail locations and an e-commerce business. Positioned as the number one hockey retail company in the country, Pure Hockey offers qualified candidates the opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-growing business. We’re looking for a hands-on Director of Loss Prevention & Asset Protection to own the development and execution of the loss prevention plan, physical security, as well as resource and expense budgets for all the companies retail stores, corporate office, and E-commerce business. You will develop and execute all Asset Protection strategies and resources to drive shrink and fraud reduction, manage physical security, and profitability. This role partners with organizational leadership to determine necessary asset protection programs, activities, and resources, to support and execute on corporate strategy. Leverage approved artificial intelligence, automation, advanced analytics, and established Asset Protection methodologies to detect risk earlier, improve investigative efficiency, and guide strategic decisions.

Requirements

8+ years of progressive experience in loss prevention, asset protection, retail operations, security, or a related field, including 3+ years in a leadership role
Strong systems knowledge, NetSuite experience preferred
Experience supporting a multi-location or complex retail environment strongly preferred.
Experience analyzing and interpreting data and communicating findings and recommendations to varying audiences including all levels of leadership within the Company.
Experience diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex analysis and translate findings into practical business recommendations.
Strong knowledge of shrink, retail theft, fraud, internal investigations, operational controls, and investigative documentation.
Experience with exception reporting, dashboards, risk scoring, or automated analytical workflows.
Ability to travel to company locations as required

Responsibilities

Regularly evaluates and compares the efficiency of loss control processes across various organizational teams and engages leadership in solutions-oriented planning.
Proactively identifies asset protection trends and issues that may or may not be apparent.
Research opportunities and establishes strategies and options to mitigate losses that have or may occur.
Manages hiring, performance, development, engagement, and other talent activities to promote team effectiveness.
Directs and empowers team members to achieve strategic and tactical objectives in support of goals and initiatives.
Establishes team operating guidelines promoting communication, collaboration, and consistent leadership across multiple channels.
Analyzes Asset Protection data and identifies trends, risks, and opportunities to reduce company losses.
Oversees ongoing analysis of shrink, refunds, returns, discounts, gift cards, inventory adjustments, chargebacks, cash activity, fraud, and other exception-based transactions.
Turn Asset Protection data into actionable information, identify high-risk stores and transactions, conduct or coordinate investigations, and work with Operations, Store Management, Finance, IT, and other departments to implement corrective actions.
Address all issues of fraudulent related activity to ecommerce website.
Work on developing exception-based reporting to detect, predict, and prevent internal and external fraud related to ecommerce website.
Continuously monitor the integrity of the brand's loyalty program to prevent unnecessary loss or abuse.
Lead investigations into suspected internal and external theft, fraud, and policy violations, partnering with the People Team on outcomes.
