About The Position
The Director of Laboratory is responsible for managing and operating the Laboratory Department. The role includes personnel management, budgeting, equipment review and purchasing, participation in various hospital committees, and document reporting as needed.
Requirements
- Graduate of a School of Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or Clinical Laboratory Science.
- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, chemical, physical, or biological science.
- Minimum of 4 years of training/experience as an ASCP-registered medical technologist.
- American Society of Clinical Pathologists national certification: MT(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP).
Responsibilities
- Manage and operate the Laboratory Department.
- Manage personnel.
- Oversee budgeting.
- Review and purchase equipment.
- Attend various hospital committees.
- Complete document reporting as needed.
