About The Position

Signet Health is seeking a Director of Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation to oversee the inpatient acute rehabilitation unit at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia. With support from Signet’s national team of experts, the director will drive CMS compliance, optimize interdisciplinary collaboration, and foster a culture that supports staff and helps patients achieve their highest potential. The role focuses on establishing high standards for a hospital-based inpatient rehabilitation facility and requires a strong understanding of CMS regulations, IRF-PPS, quality improvement, and CARF.

Requirements

Experience as a Director of Inpatient Rehabilitation is required.
At least a bachelor’s degree in a related clinical healthcare field, such as RN, PT, OT, ST, or SW; an MHA or MBA is also considered.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills across formal and informal settings.
Ability to work attentively with others in a spirit of teamwork and collaboration.
Strong understanding of CMS regulations, IRF-PPS, quality improvement, and CARF.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in a clinical healthcare discipline preferred.
Experience working in a short-term acute care hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a strategic outreach plan to build a robust referral pipeline.
Use metrics such as CMI, Functional Gain, Length of Stay, and Discharge Destination from tools such as UDSMR/PEM reports to benchmark performance, drive quality improvement, and manage productivity.
Collaborate with physiatrists and referring physicians to support appropriate admissions, medical necessity documentation, and a high-performing interdisciplinary team culture.
Apply knowledge of CMS IRF-PPS, the 60% Rule, and IRF-PAI compliance to support optimal reimbursement and readiness for state, federal, and MAC audits.
Work with Signet’s clinical, operations, and financial resources to implement its quality-driven model of interdisciplinary rehabilitation.
Oversee the inpatient acute rehabilitation unit at South Georgia Medical Center.
