The Director of Inflight Services will be intricately immersed in the overall coordination and control of Inflight: operations, standards, compliance, and reliability. The Director of Inflight Services will also maintain compliance with CFRs and Company policies and procedures. As a vital member of the Company’s leadership team, the Director of Inflight Services will contribute new, innovative ideas and strategies that will maximize the operational effectiveness and financial return of the Inflight Department.

Requirements

  • Be at least 23 years of age.
  • At least five (5) years of airline experience with one (1) or more of those years as an active Flight Attendant or Flight Attendant Supervisor.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local rules and regulations regarding Inflight and airline operations.
  • Must possess comprehensive understanding of the Flight Attendant role, responsibilities, and daily duties.
  • Operational knowledge of laptop and desktop computers, working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, or related presentation programs.
  • Operational knowledge of Outlook is required including OneNote, Access database, etc.
  • Competency with internet navigation is also required.
  • Possess and maintain a valid US passport or foreign passport.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and eligible to travel in and out of the United States to foreign destinations.
  • Must pass a DOT required pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be willing to submit to and pass FAA, DOT and/or Company mandated drug and alcohol tests.
  • Must pass FAA required 10-year work history review, submit to criminal background and fingerprint checks.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and have an excellent driving record.
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Available to travel as required.
  • Must be capable of maintaining a high degree of confidentiality in all matters.
  • Must be proficient in accessing, comprehending, and applying FAA regulations and guidance materials as required. E.g. 8900.1, SAFO, Cabin Safety Index, etc.
  • Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Be a visionary with ability to identify the need for change, revise processes, procedures, and effectively implement the plan.
  • Be able to communicate information and recommendations to non-technical personnel in an informative manner.
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Physically able to assist with accepting stock and when necessary, provisioning an aircraft.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations.
  • Must be willing to accept a work assignment at Contour Corporate Headquarters located in Smyrna/Nashville, TN.

Responsibilities

  • Observe safety above all.
  • Provide exemplary service to internal and external customers.
  • Participate in all phases of departmental operations, including training, task forces, recognition programs, scheduling, safety, catering, etc.
  • Implement policy and procedure changes.
  • Communicate / coordinate with Vice President of Inflight Services to ensure departmental operations are maintained and goals are met.
  • Coordinates with Vice President of Inflight Services in the development of budgets and cost accounting for Inflight when designated.
  • Maintains liaison with FAA and industry organizations assigned.
  • Partners with other departments involving Inflight interaction: Airport Operations, Customer Experience, Recruitment, Crew Scheduling, Flight Operations, Security/Safety within the Company to maintain safety and increase reliability.
  • Integral involvement with the planning of Inflight operations, staffing, resources, and equipment.
  • Serves on internal and external committees to enhance Inflight operations.
  • Attend industry meetings as applicable.
  • Responds to Flight Attendant needs, questions and requests in a timely manner.
  • Integral involvement with candidate screening, interviews, and making recommendations for hiring potential employees.
  • Coaches and provide leadership, direction, motivation, and supervision of direct reports.
  • Appraises performance, provides performance feedback, takes corrective actions, and oversees development of staff supervisory staff and line flight attendants.
  • Fosters the Company’s core values and culture throughout the work environment.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned or required.
  • Complete tasks assigned by the Vice President of Inflight Services in a timely manner or communicate barriers to completion.
