Director of Services provides leadership to a team of direct care professionals, who is laser-focused on providing the best care possible to the individuals we serve. You will lead a team to fulfill our mission of empowering people to reach individual achievement across the spectrum of life. As a core member of the regional leadership team, you’ll be responsible for keeping updated records, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations from governing bodies, and implementing services that emphasize individual choice and decision making. Your consistent leadership will provide your team with the trusted foundation they need to make a difference in the lives of the people we serve. This role operates administratively in the following departments: Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Setting , defined as “medical, social, and supportive services for Iowans with functional, cognitive, and other physical or mental health needs” (Iowa Health & Human Services). Rather than institutionalizing individuals who have these physical and mental health needs, HCBS settings provide these individuals with the opportunity to live and receive services in a way honoring them and their abilities. Day Habilitation (DAY HAB) Setting , defined as services “that provide opportunities and support for community inclusion and build interest in and develop skills for active participation in recreation, volunteerism and integrated community employment” (Iowa Health & Human Services). Day Habilitation provides assistance with acquisition, retention, or improvement of socialization, community participation, and daily living skills. Supported Employment Day Habilitation (SE-HAB) Setting , defined as services “that enables the member to obtain and maintain individual employment” (Iowa Health & Human Services). Rather than assuming individuals with development or intellectual disabilities are not qualified to work, SE-HAB services provide these individuals with the opportunity to obtain and maintain meaningful employment that supports their life goals.
