About The Position

The Director of Individual Giving plays an important role in building, securing, and expanding Hudson Guild’s support from individuals. As an integral member of the Development and External Relations (DER) team, this position reports to the Deputy Executive Director of Development and External Relations and strategically manages and grows a portfolio of individual donors. The Director acquires, cultivates, solicits, and stewards individual donors and oversees annual fund strategy, including digital and direct mail campaigns to support fundraising goals. The position may have direct reports in the future. Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising.
Experience securing four- and five-figure gifts, upgrading entry-level donations, and designing and implementing individual giving strategies.
Adept at enrolling senior stakeholders in the work.
Skill in aligning fundraising plans with broader organizational strategy.
Experience building and managing a portfolio of donors and family foundations.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate the mission and engage donors.
Self-motivated with strong follow-through.
Willingness to take initiative and adapt with a can-do attitude.
High standards of accountability.
Ability to prioritize opportunities, balance long-term cultivation with short-term revenue goals, and adapt strategies as needed.

Responsibilities

Achieve annual fundraising goals from individuals in collaboration with the Deputy Executive Director of Development and External Relations, Executive Director, and DER team.
Develop and implement an individual fundraising strategy with the Deputy Executive Director, leveraging Board and organizational relationships where possible.
Research, identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors capable of making four- and five-figure gifts.
Manage year-round cultivation and stewardship to acquire new donors, improve retention, and increase gift amounts.
Develop personalized pitches based on individual donors’ interests.
Build an individual volunteer program with opportunities for meaningful engagement.
Create compelling appeals and urgent giving opportunities with the Marketing Manager, including direct mail, email, and digital campaigns.
Support the Corporate Manager during corporate volunteer days to build relationships with individual volunteers and identify volunteers with capacity to make meaningful gifts.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of individual donor touchpoints and action steps in the Raiser’s Edge database and provide monthly progress reports.
Recommend new Junior Board members in partnership with the Corporate Relations and Special Events Manager to steward the next generation of Hudson Guild supporters.
Perform other duties as assigned.
