About The Position

Community Options, Inc., a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states, is hiring a Director of IDD Community Services to provide support in Phoenix, Arizona. The position develops appropriate employment opportunities for people with disabilities across a range of levels and needs, and is responsible for the programmatic and fiscal development and implementation of the employment program. Working collaboratively with other programs, the Director helps ensure that employment goals for the individuals supported are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least three years of experience in a related field.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Knowledge of state regulatory bodies and regulations.
• Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports.
• Successful completion of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing checks is required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Manage employment programs and partner with stakeholders in compliance with the state regulatory body.
• Define contract requirements for vocational and employment activities with appropriate agencies.
• Manage contract procurement and disbursements for community-based programs.
• Network with business leaders to develop employment, volunteer, and internship opportunities.
• Provide training on the methodology used to teach individuals the skills needed for employment.
• Assist with training individuals to perform on-the-job tasks and work routines.
• Assist with business development, fundraising, and grant development for employment programs.
• Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and on time.
• Establish internships for people with disabilities with potential employers.
• Cooperate with license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation.
• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
