Manages the operation of the housekeeping and laundry areas of the hotel to ensure product quality standards are met and that hotel guest rooms, public space, and all other areas of the hotel are spotlessly clean and well maintained. This role involves managing subordinate supervisors and employees to achieve departmental productivity objectives and service quality standards. The Director of Housekeeping is also responsible for establishing and maintaining cost control systems for linen and cleaning supplies, developing and implementing inspection systems for quality assurance, and managing staff scheduling based on forecasted occupancy. Additionally, this position compiles reports on housekeeping activities and expenses, recruits, hires, trains, and evaluates staff, develops and monitors the department's annual budget, and ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. The role requires responding quickly to guest requests, maintaining a professional image, and conducting training on safety, security, and service guidelines. The Director of Housekeeping will also fulfill Manager on Duty shifts.
