About The Position

As the Director of Housekeeping, you will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Housekeeping department at the DoubleTree Hotel & Suites Charleston Airport & Homewood Suites North Charleston. You will oversee the daily operations for the 249 room dual brand property, manage the staff, and ensure that all guests are provided with exceptional housekeeping services. You will promote a positive work environment, set performance standards, and provide ongoing training and development for your staff. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of cleanliness and safety within the hotel. If you are an experienced leader with a passion for service and hospitality, this could be the perfect role for you. We are looking for someone who has great communication and organizational skills, as well as a strong commitment to quality customer service. You must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to think on your feet.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Housekeeping or related field within the hospitality industry
  • Proven track record of successful management and leadership
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards, such as OSHA and EPA
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of hotel systems, such as housekeeping and property management systems
  • Ability to train and motivate staff
  • Proficiency using computer software, such as Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Create and enforce department policies and procedures that are in line with hotel standards
  • Oversee and manage day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping Department
  • Ensure that all areas of the hotel are properly cleaned and maintained to the highest standards of quality
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of housekeeping staff
  • Schedule and assign duties to housekeeping staff
  • Ensure that all guests receive prompt and courteous housekeeping service
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning materials, linens and other supplies
  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with all hotel departments
  • Assist with the hiring and training of staff
  • Participate in hotel events, meetings and activities
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure efficient operations
  • Supervise and inspect the work of housekeeping staff to ensure all tasks are completed to hotel standards
  • Assist with customer inquiries and complaints
  • Ensure that all safety and health regulations are met and adhered to
