Director of Growth

AalyriaWashington, DC

About The Position

Aalyria is seeking a Director of Growth to own the top of our funnel: the long-lead work that expands what our sales team can close. Where the sales organization is measured on in-year bookings, this role is measured on leading indicators, chiefly contract vehicles won, strategic teaming relationships established, and qualified opportunity flow handed to the closers. You will work at the intersection of government relations, program shaping, and strategic partnerships. The role is based in Washington, DC, where our market is decided.

Requirements

  • 8+ years across government business development, program shaping, or growth roles at technology companies selling to the Department of War and the national security space community.
  • Concrete outcomes you personally drove: vehicles won, programs shaped, teams formed.
  • Working fluency in how government money moves: budget cycles, contract vehicles, and the solicitation lifecycle.
  • Enough technical depth to represent an advanced networking product to program offices and engineers.
  • Based in Washington, DC, with an active network across the defense space ecosystem.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at commercial-first defense technology companies.
  • Prior uniformed or civilian government service, as context for the work.
  • Familiarity with space, satellite communications, or telecom infrastructure programs.
  • Security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and win seats on the OTAs, IDIQs, GWACs, and consortia that gate access to our government pipeline, measured in vehicle ceiling created.
  • Track budgets, PPBE cycles, and legislative language that moves our market.
  • Build teaming relationships with prime contractors, systems integrators, and defense technology companies, structured as concrete teaming agreements on real pursuits.
  • Grow our open-source and standards presence, industry working groups, and the community of engineers and operators who pull our platform into programs.
  • Engage program offices and requirement owners well ahead of RFPs so that solicitations reflect what our technology does.
  • Hand qualified, shaped opportunities to the sales team with clean ownership and follow-through.
  • Coordinate and focus outside government relations consultants against business outcomes.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • comprehensive benefits (401(k), dental, vision, health, life insurance)
  • paid time off
  • equity options
  • Flexible working arrangements including hybrid remote/in-office schedules.
