About The Position

The Director of Grants Administration plays a critical role in advancing the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas (BGCD) by leading and coordinating all aspects of the grants management lifecycle. This position is responsible for identifying funding opportunities, developing compelling grant proposals, managing grant compliance and reporting requirements, and supporting strategic funder engagement efforts. As a key member of the Advancement team, the Director of Grants Administration partners cross-functionally with program, finance, operations, and executive leadership teams to secure and steward institutional funding that supports BGCD programs, initiatives, and organizational priorities. This role requires strong project management, strategic writing, relationship management, and analytical skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in grant writing, grants management, institutional giving, or nonprofit development required; experience with government grants strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in researching, writing, and securing foundation, corporate, and/or government grant funding.
  • Strong written communication, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising principles, grant compliance standards, budgeting practices, and institutional funding strategies.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Salesforce CRM, grant management software, or donor databases preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and emerging technologies to support research, content development, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data, synthesize information, and communicate impact through compelling narratives and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify prospective grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other institutional funding sources aligned with BGCD’s mission and strategic priorities.
  • Lead the development, writing, editing, and submission of compelling, accurate, and competitive grant proposals, applications, letters of inquiry, and supporting materials.
  • Manage the full grants administration process, including proposal development, submission tracking, award documentation, reporting requirements, renewals, and grant closeout activities.
  • Maintain and oversee a comprehensive grants calendar to ensure all application deadlines, reporting requirements, and compliance obligations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather program outcomes, financial data, budgets, narratives, and evaluation metrics necessary for high-quality proposals and reports.
  • Monitor grant performance and compliance requirements to ensure adherence to funder guidelines, organizational policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Track and analyze grant activity, funding outcomes, and performance metrics; prepare reports and dashboards for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Support the development and execution of BGCD’s annual institutional giving strategy in alignment with organizational fundraising goals and strategic initiatives.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with funders, community partners, and internal stakeholders to support stewardship and long-term engagement.
  • Utilize AI tools, CRM systems, and other technology platforms to strengthen research, proposal development, workflow efficiency, and data analysis capabilities.
  • Maintain accurate grant records, documentation, and reporting within Salesforce or other grant management systems.
  • Stay informed on trends, best practices, and regulatory updates related to grants management, nonprofit fundraising, and institutional giving.
