About The Position

Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Director of Golf Course & Resort Landscape Operations for its Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort. This role is crucial for maintaining the renowned Tranquilo Golf Course and the resort's landscapes, ensuring a high-quality experience for members and guests. The position demands creativity, quick problem-solving, and timely decision-making to manage daily operations, coordinate with maintenance teams, and implement proactive turf and grounds strategies. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy
  • Must have or be able to obtain State of Florida Pesticide Applicator License
  • Thorough understanding of business principles, financial accountability, and agronomy practices
  • Proven effective planning and communication skills
  • Must have a TEAM mentality.
  • Willingness to grow and learn, and a desire to advance career in the turf grass industry.
  • Self-motivated, lead by example, and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems, and efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure.
  • Ability to create and adapt daily work schedules on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Aptitude for administrative and executive responsibilities including effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid Florida Pesticide applicators license.
  • Minimum of 2 years as a Golf Course Superintendent or Director of Golf Course Landscape Operations or Equivalent
  • Must be fluent in English and possess legal work authorization in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • CGCS preferred
  • Seasoned experience in resort landscape operations and a private golf membership
  • Two or four-year degree in Turfgrass Management or completion of Turf Management related certificate program preferred.

  • Maintain application sheets and documents for inventory control.
  • Maintain chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with regulations.
  • Manage payroll and operating budget.
  • Work with Golf Operations staff to coordinate tournaments, weather-related closures, and special requests.
  • Hire, train, and supervise maintenance staff.
  • Oversee seeding, fertilizing, topdressing, soil conditioning, watering, and pest and weed control of the golf course and practice facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, OSHA rules and regulations, relating to chemical and fertilizer storage and disposal, employee safety, and public safety.
