About The Position

Denver Golf, part of the City and County of Denver’s Department of Parks and Recreation, is looking to hire a Golf Course Operator to join their team at Evergreen Golf Course. Evergreen Golf Course, a part of Denver’s Mountain Park system, provides an exceptional 18-hole golf course experience. In this role, you will play a key role in Denver Golf’s mission to be a national leader in the golf industry regarding accessibility, diversity, environmental stewardship, and building the game for the future. As a Golf Course Operator, you will mainly work on the Pro Shop Operations side.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Five (5) years of experience in assisting in the operation of a golf course, or in golf course maintenance.
  • Strong management and team building skills
  • Experience assisting with golf tournaments and all aspects of a golf retail operation
  • Experience assisting with managing and influencing a high volume of employees
  • Superior attention to detail and organization skills
  • Basic understanding of accounting and budgeting
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Process oriented and logical thinking skills

Nice To Haves

  • PGA or LPGA member or apprentice who has completed level 2 and is in good standing preferred, but not required
  • Experience as an assistant golf professional or head pro preferred but not required
  • Experience using an industry preferred point of sale and Teesheet software preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and market pace of play and tournament programs to increased course revenue and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with Parks and Recreation Marketing team to create and implement innovative marketing initiatives for the course
  • Manage the operations of the pro shop and golf car fleet; supervising personnel involved in the staging, marketing, appearance and profitability of golf car fleet
  • Oversee all retail aspects of the pro shop
  • Respond to guest concerns in a professional manner, and ensure staff maintain/exceed our top-notch customer service standards
  • Work with Golf Course Superintendent to coordinate daily play, tournament and other golf activities, to balance play and conditioning to appropriate levels; to provide maximum service and enhance revenue
  • Assist with development of departmental budget, and conduct general accounting duties
  • Enforce golf course rules and regulations and maintain PGA standards and policies
  • Develop performance evaluation program for functions within the unit, monitors and documents employee performance, provides ongoing feedback regarding levels of performance, and formally evaluates employees in relation to performance
  • Submit timecards on time and accurately
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
