About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced, people-first Director of Landscape Operations – Maintenance Division to lead a successful, award-winning Landscape Maintenance division within a long-established, family-owned organization. This is a long-term leadership opportunity for someone who believes strong teams build strong businesses. The Director will play a central role in sustaining operational excellence, developing leaders, and strengthening a culture that values stability, accountability, and genuine care for its people. You will oversee a well-established operation serving 800+ active clients and leading a team of 100+ employees, including seasonal staff, across multiple departments. This role is part of a broader organization of 200+ team members across our garden center, production, and landscape operations in Central Virginia. Requirements

  • A people-first leader who believes culture drives performance
  • Experience in landscaping, horticulture, or a service-based industry
  • Strong financial acumen with budgeting and P&L responsibility
  • Skilled in leading, developing, and retaining teams
  • Comfortable managing complex, multi-team operations
  • Clear communicator across roles, backgrounds, and languages
  • Bilingual (Spanish-English) required
  • Seeking a long-term leadership role in a stable, values-driven organization

Responsibilities

  • Lead and strengthen a high-performing landscape maintenance operation with a people-first approach
  • Oversee production, account management, administrative, and sales teams
  • Drive operational execution, financial performance, budgeting, labor planning, and full P&L accountability
  • Improve systems and processes that support efficiency and employee experience
  • Develop leaders and build strong internal talent pipelines
  • Maintain a strong safety culture across all teams
  • Partner with ownership on strategic direction and long-term priorities
  • Communicate effectively across a bilingual workforce and customer base (bilingual required)
