About The Position

St. Mary's General Hospital is seeking an experienced Director of Food & Nutrition Services to lead clinical nutrition, food service operations, regulatory compliance, and departmental performance. The role oversees the department’s food safety and nutritional care functions and ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and accrediting agency requirements.

The Director provides strategic and operational leadership for clinical nutrition services, food production, patient meal services, purchasing, sanitation, safety programs, performance improvement initiatives, and staff development. The position is suited to a Registered Dietitian with healthcare leadership experience and a commitment to patient-centered care.

St. Mary's General Hospital is a community-based tertiary medical center in Passaic, New Jersey. It provides acute care and services including cardiovascular care, cancer care, maternal-child health, and outpatient behavioral health. Requirements

• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Food & Nutrition or a related field, or relevant experience.
• Current food safety certification from an accredited organization.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience in nutrition and food service management is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee food safety and nutritional care in the Food and Nutrition Services Department to ensure compliance with federal, state, and other regulatory requirements.
• Ensure efficient food preparation while addressing food safety, nutritional adequacy, and appropriate patient nutritional care.
• Develop and enforce policies and procedures governing clinical services, food preparation, distribution and service, purchasing, sanitation, safety practices, performance improvement, and staff education and development.
