Our mission is to make it simple to headquarter any business on the internet. Today, we provide companies with a business address and a dashboard to manage their physical mail online. Over 15,000+ companies like Brex, Doordash, and Gusto use Stable to automate their mailroom and act as their permanent business address with the IRS, state, and vendors. The rules that regulate US entities were written in the 1800s. Stable abstracts these antiquated requirements with tools that empower modern companies to move forward faster. These rules don't make sense for the way we work today — work takes place in the cloud and businesses are no longer tied to physical proximity or geography. As Director of Finance at Stable, you’ll be the financial architect behind our growth — building the models, systems, and insights that power decision-making across the company. As we expand into new markets and scale our physical operations, the need for financial precision and strategic clarity has never been greater. This is the moment to define the systems and insights that will guide how Stable grows. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys turning complexity into clarity, and wants to help build a category-defining company from the ground up. You’ll start as a hands-on individual contributor with the opportunity to build the finance function as Stable scales.

Requirements

5+ years of finance experience at venture-backed startups
Hands-on experience with complex COGS and physical or operational businesses
Demonstrated strength in FP&A and strategic finance
Strong SQL and Excel skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be willing to travel at least quarterly for company offsites

Responsibilities

Own financial planning and analysis — transform Stable’s operating model into a living roadmap that informs investments, hiring plans, and growth decisions.
Lead budgeting and cost management — manage cash flow and accountability across teams, uncovering insights in our unit economics to improve margins and efficiency.
Build scalable finance infrastructure — implement systems, controls, and reporting processes that enables Stable to operate with speed and confidence.
Own FP&A and long-range modeling — build Stable’s operating model, forecast scenarios, and maintain monthly rollovers that guide company planning.
Lead budgeting and cash management — ensure spend stays aligned with goals, hold teams accountable to budgets, and manage cash runway.
Build scalable financial infrastructure — implement systems, internal controls, and processes to support accurate reporting and compliance.
Negotiate key contracts and vendor agreements — partner with department leads to optimize spend and secure favorable terms across suppliers and vendors.
Analyze unit economics and cost-to-serve — dive into physical operations to improve performance and efficiency.
Partner closely with the CEO and leadership team — provide insights on ROI and strategic tradeoffs to drive better decisions.
Support board and fundraising activities — prepare financials, materials, and data to communicate performance clearly.
Drive financial visibility and accountability — identify risks and opportunities through scenario planning and ensure KPIs are tracked, communicated, and used to drive accountability across teams.
