About The Position

Our client, a growing organization based in Laval, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced finance professional to join their team as Director of Finance. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing all financial operations of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, reporting, and analysis. This role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and excellent communication abilities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA, MBA, or advanced certification is an asset.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles, ideally in a growth environment.
Bilingual (French and English).
Strong expertise in financial modeling, performance analysis, and reporting.
Proven experience improving business performance through rigorous financial planning and strategic recommendations.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with leaders at all levels of the organization.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with both strategic and hands-on responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

CPA, MBA, or advanced certification is an asset.
Experience with asset-based lending (ABL) is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement financial plans, policies, procedures, and systems aligned with the organization’s objectives.
Oversee the budgeting process and monitoring activities to ensure financial discipline and profitability.
Provide accurate and timely financial reports, analyses, and recommendations to senior management and the ownership group.
Manage cash flow, investments, and liquidity to optimize returns and minimize risk.
Define and execute currency hedging strategies to reduce exposure to exchange rate fluctuations and protect margins.
Lead the annual audit process and manage relationships with vendors, financial institutions, and other external stakeholders.
Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Collaborate closely with various functions across the organization to support decision-making, cost optimization, and overall performance.
Build and lead a high-performing finance team by recruiting, developing, and mentoring team members.
