About the position
We are seeking a Director of Finance to join our team at Sylva, Inc. This role is crucial in driving our financial strategy and operations to new heights. The ideal candidate is an experienced finance leader who is eager to grow with us. Your responsibilities will include managing the accounting team, ensuring accurate financial statements, developing budgets and forecasts, and providing financial leadership for M&A activities.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 7-10 years experience in public accounting, preferably one of the big 4 accounting firms
- 5-7 years experience in a managerial financial reporting role at a mid to large size private company
- CA / CPA or equivalent qualification
- Netsuite experience is required
- Deep understanding of subscription-based business models
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and other regulatory requirements
- Experience managing and developing accounting teams
- Ability to execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Proficient in developing budgets, forecasts, and strategic financial plans
- Skilled in financial due diligence and financial modeling for fundraising processes
- Experience evaluating and optimizing financial systems and processes for scalable growth
- Familiarity with M&A and other strategic initiatives
- Ability to hire, manage, and develop a remote-first finance team as the company grows
