About the position
We are seeking a Director of Finance to join our team at Sylva. As a fully-remote and highly-decentralized organization, we are dedicated to creating an environment where our team members can excel and contribute to the growth of our company. In this role, you will play a crucial part in driving our financial strategy and operations to new heights. Your responsibilities will include managing and developing the accounting team, ensuring accurate financial statements and compliance, developing budgets and strategic financial plans, and providing financial leadership for M&A and other strategic initiatives. We are looking for an experienced finance leader who is eager to grow with our company.
Responsibilities
- Managing and developing the accounting team
- Ensuring accurate and timely financial statements and compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements
- Executing monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Developing budgets, forecasts, and strategic financial plans for business decisions
- Partnering with business unit leaders to implement financial strategies aligned with company objectives
- Assisting with the fundraising process, including financial due diligence and modeling
- Evaluating and optimizing financial systems and processes for scalable growth
- Providing financial leadership for M&A and other strategic initiatives
- Hiring, managing, and developing a remote-first finance team as the company grows
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 7-10 years experience in public accounting, preferably one of the big 4 accounting firms
- 5-7 years experience in a managerial financial reporting role at a mid to large size private company
- CA / CPA or equivalent qualification
- Netsuite experience is required
- Deep understanding of subscription-based metrics
