About The Position

The Director of Family, Children and Youth Services is responsible for the overall development, management and evaluation of all programs within the department, ensuring that they reflect the organization’s vision and values and that they adhere to all relevant standards. The Director will provide leadership to ensure that inclusive high-quality services are delivered with dignity and respect, honouring diversity. The Director’s responsibilities encompass all aspects of the department, including financial, human resources, contracts, and services management. As a key member of the leadership team, the Director will foster a collaborative approach across all departments and support the organization to meet Kinsight’s broader goal of community engagement and inclusion. Above all, the Director will demonstrate a commitment to the vision and values of Kinsight and will collaborate with, and support staff, persons served, their networks and community in work that advances Kinsight’s vision and strategic priorities.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from a post-secondary institution of recognized standing in a field related to Early Intervention and Family Support, Social Work, or relevant Social Sciences.
  • Minimum five years experience in a senior management position with direct responsibility for program development and review, financial administration, human resources, contract management and funder relations.
  • Experience with early intervention and family support programs and community-based, family-centred delivery of these programs.
  • A high level of understanding of person-centred planning and services and the core issues and opportunities related to inclusion and lifelong disability.
  • Demonstrated practical experience in organizational and community leadership with ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal, including record keeping, reporting, facilitation, training, presentation and public speaking skills).
  • Ability to work as an effective team member.
  • Technologically competent across a variety of platforms.
  • Knowledge of and experience developing relationships and working collaboratively with community agencies and government systems and services, including health, education and social service systems.

  • Administration and leadership related course work preferred.
