About The Position

The Director of EVS directs and oversees the operational needs of the Housekeeping Department, coordinates the work of Assistant Directors and Operations Managers, and serves as a liaison between administration and hospital departments. The role oversees department finances, staffing and operations, regulatory compliance, quality processes, and achievement of facility goals.

Requirements

Four-year college degree and equivalent related experience required.
Three years of housekeeping management experience at a healthcare account required.
Ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data.
General business acumen.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer-service and quality orientation.
Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
Public speaking skills.
Ability to use a participative approach to staff management, organize and prioritize tasks, and develop budgets with an understanding of facility needs and requirements.
Excellent stress management, administrative, organizational, and follow-through skills with associates and clients.
Proficiency with Windows-based office software, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Manage department financial data and statistics and monitor unit expenditures.
Develop and recommend the department operating budget, and ensure operations stay within budget.
Coordinate housekeeping activities with other departments and communicate with administration and hospital departments.
Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and supervise department functions and activities.
Establish work standards and workflow, and implement policies and procedures for departmental operations.
Encourage and mentor staff creativity and innovation, and encourage participation in education programs.
Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and proactively support facility goals and objectives.
Provide leadership in meeting performance plans and develop and administer the Total Quality Management process.
Develop and maintain job descriptions for department staff.
