•$221,200 - $387,100

About The Position

ServiceNow is hiring a Director of Engineering to lead one or more product areas within its AI Control Tower (AICT), a platform for governing enterprise AI models, agents, and datasets. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, AICT, this leader will own engineering roadmaps and delivery as the product and team grow. The role calls for someone who has built and shipped a product from scratch in a small, fast-moving company and has driven an early product from launch toward sustained customer adoption. The Director will set an AI-native engineering standard, applying AI throughout development and building platform features that treat AI agents as first-class users. The role combines technical leadership with team building and close collaboration with Product Management, Design, partner engineering teams, and senior leadership. ServiceNow describes the work persona as flexible; assignment depends on the role's nature and work location.

  • Experience with event-driven architectures.
  • Ability to operate at both the architectural level and the pull request level when needed.
  • Track record of building and retaining engineering teams, including in competitive talent markets.
  • Ability to lead AI adoption across the engineering lifecycle to improve productivity, software quality, reliability, customer experience, and delivery velocity.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with MCP, OpenAPI, or other AI interoperability standards.
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, AI, or a related technical field.

Responsibilities

  • Own the engineering roadmap for assigned AI Control Tower product areas, translating product requirements into technical plans and managing delivery and velocity.
  • Drive products from early release through customer adoption by iterating based on customer behavior and building feedback loops.
  • Lead the team's use of AI across engineering practices, including code review and testing, and design platform features for AI agents as first-class users.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing engineering team; provide clear feedback, create stretch opportunities, and foster a strong team culture.
  • Work with Product Management, Design, and partner engineering teams to align dependencies and ship coherent experiences.
  • Represent engineering in planning and review forums with senior leadership.
