About The Position

TJM Labs is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead and scale its engineering organization. This is a hands-on leadership role for a technically credible, execution-focused leader who takes ownership of results. The Director will develop a team of engineering managers and partner with senior leadership to turn company priorities into shipped outcomes.

The role oversees engineering execution across multiple teams, provides technical leadership, and works with Product, Operations, and customer-facing teams to align priorities. The Director may also join customer conversations involving complex integrations and technical escalations. The work supports TJM Labs' AI-driven automation products, which help pharmacies reduce repetitive and error-prone work.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including significant hands-on work.
• At least 4 years of engineering management experience, including managing managers.
• Experience leading multiple engineering teams in a fast-growing organization.
• Strong background in backend and API services, third-party system integrations, and automation running in production.
• Experience building or leading teams that build AI-powered products and automation.
• Experience scaling an engineering organization through rapid growth.
• A track record of improving delivery, accountability, and team performance.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including enterprise customers.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow engineering managers across multiple teams.
• Set clear expectations for delivery, quality, and team health.
• Own engineering execution, including planning, delivery predictability, and cross-team coordination.
• Provide technical leadership on architecture, reliability, and production issues.
• Define and track engineering effectiveness metrics and improve how teams build and ship, including through AI-assisted development.
• Partner with Product, Operations, and customer-facing teams to align priorities.
• Join customer conversations on complex integrations and technical escalations when needed.
