About The Position
One Call is a healthcare technology company that coordinates care for injured workers across the United States. It is building a unified operational platform that brings systems, data, and intelligence together so teams and automated workflows can coordinate care faster and more reliably at scale. The Director of Engineering Platform leads the team responsible for building and owning this foundation, sets technical strategy for data, integration, and operational infrastructure, builds and leads a growing engineering team across the United States and Mexico, and partners with product, architecture, and applied AI teams to deliver platform capabilities tied to business outcomes. The position reports to the VP of Strategic Engineering. The platform includes a canonical data model and data contracts; event-driven integrations connecting systems in real time; pipelines that convert unstructured inputs into structured, reliable data; operational data infrastructure for ingestion, quality, lineage, and governance in a HIPAA-regulated environment; and shared services and standards that help engineering teams build on consistent infrastructure.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software experience, including 7+ years leading engineering teams and managing managers.
- Proven experience building platform data or infrastructure systems that other engineering teams depend on.
- Experience unifying data and systems across multiple platforms, including following acquisitions.
- A track record of hiring, developing, and retaining strong engineers and engineering leaders.
- Experience operating in a regulated industry such as healthcare or financial services, including HIPAA, SOC 2, or equivalent.
- Experience leading distributed teams across multiple time zones.
- Ability to work in an environment aligned with the company's diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging standards.

Responsibilities
- Set the platform engineering strategy, technical direction, and end-to-end roadmap.
- Build and lead a growing engineering team across the United States and Mexico, including hiring, development, and organizational design.
- Own the data contracts, quality standards, and operational guarantees that other engineering teams depend on.
- Partner cross-functionally with product, architecture, application engineering, and applied AI teams.
- Build a canonical data model and data contracts to standardize how core business data is represented and consumed.
- Build an event-driven integration layer that connects systems in real time and provides a consistent operational view.
- Build document and intelligence pipelines that convert unstructured inputs into structured, reliable data at production scale.
- Build operational data infrastructure for ingestion, quality, lineage, and governance for production use in a HIPAA-regulated environment.
- Develop shared platform services and standards that enable other engineering teams to build on consistent, trusted infrastructure.
