Director of Demand Generation

FoleyBoston, MA
$160,000 - $204,000Hybrid

About The Position

Foley is hiring a Director of Demand Generation to own the demand engine for our Corporate business, covering Mid-Market and Enterprise. You will set the strategy, build the programs, and carry the inbound pipeline number alongside Sales. Inbound drives a large portion of Corporate revenue, so this role has a direct line to how the business performs. Account-based marketing is the center of the job. Our highest-value growth comes from a defined set of named accounts, and we are building that capability in-house rather than running it through a vendor. It is the one thing this team does not have today, which is why we are hiring for it externally and why it is the highest bar in this description. You will have one direct report, a Demand Generation Manager, with room to grow the team as the motion proves out. You will work alongside directors who own digital, growth operations, and small business growth, partner closely with product marketing, and have an AI engineering resource available to you.

Requirements

  • Seven or more years in B2B demand generation, with meaningful time owning a number rather than supporting one.
  • Account-based marketing experience at upper mid-market and enterprise scale, owned rather than supported. You can explain how you selected and sized an ICP, how you tiered accounts, and what you actually did differently for a tier-one account versus a tier-three.
  • Results you can defend in specifics. A number you owned end to end: where it started, where it landed, over what period, and an honest view of what you would attribute to your own work.
  • Hands-on range across email, events, webinars, and lifecycle. This is a small team, and you will be building as well as directing.
  • Experience operationalizing AI inside a marketing function rather than using it to draft content. Come ready to walk through a workflow you built end to end, what it replaced, and what broke.
  • Credibility with teams you do not manage, including sales leadership, built by you and tested at least once when it got difficult.

Nice To Haves

  • HubSpot, Salesforce, and 6sense, or comparable platforms. We will not screen you out on tooling if you have run a comparable stack.
  • A compliance-driven or regulated services category, or any considered B2B purchase with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience marketing to two segments with different motions and economics.
  • PE-backed or public company experience.
  • Having built a demand function from a fragmented starting point rather than inheriting a mature one.

Responsibilities

  • Own account-based marketing for Enterprise. Build the strategy end to end: account tiering and segmentation, the plays, the content inside them, and the path from account engagement to booked meeting.
  • Own the Mid-Market demand strategy and the integrated campaign roadmap, our largest volume driver. Set channel mix and budget across programmatic paid, email, SMS, events and conferences, webinars, and lifecycle.
  • Drive lead quality, not just lead volume. Own MQL definition, routing, and MQL to meeting conversion, and own the campaign calendar and business priority order the rest of the function plans against.
  • Partner with Sales as one motion. Build the joint account planning rhythm with Sales leadership so that marketing engagement and AE outreach land together rather than in parallel.
  • Build AI into the demand engine. Put agentic workflows into account research and selection, audience building, campaign operations, and performance analysis, and run a standing experimentation roadmap.
  • Own performance, budget, and vendors. Report against committed quarterly targets, prioritize budget across your programs, and hold agencies and platform vendors to measurable performance.

Benefits

  • medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • a 401(k) with company match
  • paid time off and holidays
  • wellness programs
  • an employee assistance program
