About The Position

Bask & Lather is seeking a Director of Creative Performance to lead its paid acquisition creative function. The role turns customer insights and performance data into compelling ads, establishes a disciplined testing and learning process, and builds a dependable pipeline of creative to support profitable spend. Reporting to the Head of Growth, this hands-on leadership role owns creative strategy, briefs, production coordination, quality assurance, and creative performance analysis. The Director owns the paid acquisition creative roadmap and production priorities within approved resources. The role works jointly with Growth to define testing conditions, evaluate results, and recommend concepts for further investment; Growth owns media budgets, campaign execution, and spend allocation. The Director partners with Brand and Design on brand standards, Product Development and reviewers on accurate product education and claims, and Integrated Marketing, Ecommerce, and Retention on launches, offers, customer insights, and reusable assets. The role also oversees creative operations and accountability, including searchable asset records, production capacity, delivery risks, review processes, workflow improvements, and a weekly creative review. Success is measured using agreed creative-effectiveness, testing-and-learning, operating-performance, and diagnostic metrics. Acquisition and profitability outcomes are shared with Growth, and output volume alone does not define success.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in performance creative, creative strategy, or growth marketing, including leadership of creative teams or external production partners.
  • Demonstrated record of developing ads that supported profitable acquisition for a consumer product brand.
  • Deep working knowledge of Meta and TikTok creative, with experience adapting concepts for YouTube and other acquisition channels.
  • Strong analytical judgment and ability to distinguish creative insights from attribution, media, audience, or offer issues.
  • Hands-on skill in briefing, scripting, product demonstrations, UGC, editing feedback, and translating customer objections into effective creative.
  • Experience managing production budgets, agencies, creators, timelines, and competing priorities; ability to set expectations, surface risks early, and follow through.
  • Ability to discuss portfolio examples, including hypotheses, contribution, testing, spend supported, performance, and iterations; anonymized information is acceptable when needed.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Build a prioritized creative testing roadmap for Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and other active acquisition channels, defining audiences, objections, benefits, hooks, formats, and test hypotheses.
  • Translate strategy into briefs, scripts, demonstrations, and channel-specific assets; manage production calendars, feedback, approvals, and deadline-driven delivery.
  • Review creative results with Growth, identify why concepts perform, convert findings into new briefs, expand winning concepts, and diagnose weaker executions before revising or retiring them.
  • Manage performance creative agencies, UGC partners, freelancers, and production vendors to improve quality, turnaround time, cost efficiency, and production capacity.
  • Lead assigned creative resources, establish clear ownership, manage approved production budgets, and recommend staffing, partner, and capacity changes to the Head of Growth.
  • Partner with Growth to define testing conditions, evaluate results, and recommend concepts for additional investment, while Growth retains ownership of media budgets, campaign execution, and spend allocation.
  • Partner with Brand and Design to uphold brand standards and with Product Development and appropriate reviewers to ensure product education and claims are accurate.
  • Coordinate with Integrated Marketing, Ecommerce, and Retention on launches, offers, customer insights, and reusable assets.
  • Maintain a searchable asset library with consistent naming, concept tags, performance history, usage rights, and approval records.
  • Plan production capacity against the testing roadmap and budget; flag delivery risks, resolve bottlenecks, and maintain backup partners for critical needs.
  • Establish pre-launch reviews for product accuracy, demonstrations, brand alignment, platform specifications, and creator permissions.
  • Use AI and workflow automation where they improve research, ideation, briefing, reporting, or production efficiency, with human review for accuracy and quality.
  • Run a weekly creative review covering results, lessons, fatigue, production status, budget, next tests, owners, and deadlines, with evidence-supported recommendations and clear hypotheses.
  • Establish onboarding baselines, metric definitions, and numerical targets with the Head of Growth; track creative effectiveness, testing and learning, operating performance, and channel-appropriate diagnostic metrics.
  • Present portfolio examples detailing original hypotheses, personal contribution, testing approach, supported spend, performance results, subsequent iterations, and, where possible, team and budget scope.
